If you are not currently a member of AFM Local 500 and would like to join:
Step 1 - Fill out an application
- Click the "Join" button in the upper right-hand corner of the website. Be sure to fill out ALL of the information - this is your application to join.
Step 2 - Pay Initiation Fees & Membership Dues via the Online Store
- Initiation Fees: Since you are joining AFM Local 500 for the first time, you need to pay the one-time $20 Local Initiation Fee (LIF). If you have never been a member of any AFM Local before, you also need to pay the one-time $65 Federal Initiation Fee (FIF).
- Membership Dues: It is strongly preferred that all members pay dues up to the current calendar year - this significantly streamlines work in the office. If you are joining mid-year and paying the full balance of the remainder of the calendar year would be financially difficult, paying dues quarterly is an option. Dues cannot be prorated less than one-quarter of a year. Dues rates are as follows:
Regular Membership Dues, 1 year: $110
Regular Membership Dues, 6 months: $57
Regular Membership Dues, 3 months: $28.50
Life Membership Dues, 1 year: $60
* Life Membership is achieved after 30 years of AFM membership and at 65 years of age.
Step 3 - The Secretary-Treasurer will review your application and payments. If everything looks good, you will receive a receipt and membership card in the mail within 30 days. If there are issues with your application or dues, you will receive an email at the email address used
